/meet the director
Dr. Adam Kuban serves as director of the Louis E. Ingelhart Scholars Program. He assumed responsibility of Ingelhart Scholars in 2012 from former Director Brian Hayes.
Kuban is an assistant professor in the Department of Journalism at Ball State University. He attained both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Iowa State University (ISU). The former included a double major in meteorology and journalism and mass communication, and the latter in journalism and mass communication. His Ph.D. comes from the Department of Communication at the University of Utah.
Adam has worked for KLJB and Independent News Network, a television affiliate and production company, respectively, located in Davenport, Iowa. Additionally, he began to contribute to Lessons, an education-based e-magazine, as a reporter, writer and copy-editor in January 2008, and he assumed editor and publication manager responsibilities in August 2009.
Adam grew up in Geneseo, Illinois, a town in the northwest part of the state (approximately 150 miles west of Chicago) with a population of roughly 6,500. He remains an avid John Grisham novel reader and competitive tennis and racquetball player. He also volunteers as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
